Over a Coffee in Winter- A Poem

I wrote it because you insisted to

Neither I was a poet nor a lyricist

Thought to start with

The tale of we two.

I remember that one college day,

Winter had just commenced

Zing of the season

And savor for a hot cup

Pulled everyone in the cafeteria up.

I had moved too for a few sips

Having no clue,

You secretly followed my footsteps.

Yeah, you wanted to return my book I left back

You were nervous and shy

Yet came closer to my table

H…H…Hello!

You fumbled

No one could hear

You being not audible my fellow.

You called again,

This time I heard my name.

I turned

You were shivering

I swear!

Symptoms of love your eyes suffered from.

I stood up

 Walked closer to you

So did you

Book… you uttered

I passed a light smile

That split of second was ours

To converse

To sip on together

Seemed a whole lot over a steaming cup

Being perfect for the weather

Welding us together.

Cheers!

Happy Winters!
