Will you take a chance?

Today, while I practice my morning ritual- sitting on the staircase holding a glass of lime water and waiting for some sunrays to fall on me- reasoning I may consume a wholesome package of Vitamin C and Vitamin D, I am jolted off by Nikita, my chubby cheeked roommate.

“Are you done with your blog yet?” she shouts down at me. She sometimes acts my godmother.

Having no answer, “I am meditating”, I say to her.

We both laugh.

“Write something on Labors day”, she shrieks out again.

Because it’s a holiday, all are at home. Pranali, with whom too I share the flat, could not resist peeping in, “so, what’s the theme for today?

I give no answer but scratch my head (like a monkey) depicting I haven’t decided on any. And, then Shashi joins the gang. In her very own style she quotes, ‘Gajap baklol hai yeh ladki’.

I think a while on what they are intending to convey me.  I understand their concerns. In very advance, I have promised my readers that my blogs will be theme based. However, I haven’t informed them that the themes will not be pre-decided. This time, I choose all the themes ad-hocly.

I relate this with something I lately fall in love with. Wait! What?

IMPROV it is. Give me a Hi-Five, if you too love watching Improvs, particularly Improv Comedy.

In an Improv, there’s barely a story or a plot planned.  Characters don’t rehearse. All or most of which they perform is unplanned or unscripted. I laugh my Gut out and sometimes roll on the floor watching The Improvisers, a latest improv comedy show airing on Amazon Prime (by Kaneez  Surkha, Abish Mathew, Kanan Gill and Kenny Sebastian)

Imagine LIFE to be an Improv. Demanding spontaneity at any juncture. Urging you to play a character you never played before.

Will you play it?

Will you take a chance?
